Overview

The Florida Department of Children and Families is committed to the well-being of children and their families. Our responsibilities encompass a wide range of services, including assistance to families working to stay safely together or be reunited, foster care, youth and young adults transitioning from foster care to independence, adoption.

Providing Child Welfare Professionals throughout the State of Florida a point of access for information sharing and resources.

Community Based Care

The community-based care initiative negotiates and contracts with respected local, non-profit agencies to provide child welfare services in local communities for children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned.

Children’s Legal Services

Working with other department programs and community stakeholders, Children’s Legal Services (CLS) advocates for the safety, well-being, and permanency of Florida’s abused, abandoned, and neglected children.
